Accessory: Hardwired Power Converter for Electronic Faucets

HWD Power Converter is intended for commercial restroom installations where plug-in transformers are not permitted or desirable and provides a hard-wired alternate power source for Whitehall® Electronic Faucets (provided standard with a Plug-in Style Transformer). The system utilizes an XP Power ECL15 AC-DC step-down Power Supply installed within a 4-inch stud-mount junction box. Building line voltage is converted to regulated 9 VDC for direct connection to the electronic faucet's control wiring, providing a permanent and concealed power solution. The system provides a permanent concealed power source for electronic sensor faucets and is suitable for installation within a wall cavity adjacent to the faucet control components or within an accessible service space.

Converter shall be an XP Power ECL15 Series encapsulated AC-DC switching power supply configured for a 9 VDC output. The unit functions to convert 120–277 VAC building power to regulated low-voltage DC suitable for operating the Electronic Faucet.

Enclosure includes a 4-inch square metal junction box designed for stud mounting and equipped with integral mounting ears for secure attachment to a wall stud. A solid steel blank cover shall be provided and secured in accordance with applicable electrical codes to prevent unauthorized access to line-voltage components. The assembly shall be installed concealed within the wall cavity behind the fixture or in an accessible service location. Building line voltage shall be hard-wired to the power supply within the junction box. The power supply's low-voltage DC output shall be converted to sensor lead wires for direct connection to the Electronic Faucet Solenoid. Separation between line-voltage and low-voltage conductors shall be maintained within the enclosure. All wiring and terminations shall be completed in accordance with applicable local electrical codes and NEC requirements.

HWD Assembly provides a stable and regulated DC output suitable for continuous operation of Electronic Sensor and Piezo Button Faucet controls. The power supply shall be rated for continuous duty in commercial plumbing applications, with regulated output designed to minimize voltage fluctuation and ensure consistent performance. Operating conditions shall be limited to standard commercial building environments and within the rated temperature range of the power supply. The junction box cover shall allow service access to the power supply in the event replacement is required.
